ABOUT

The annual “Ride for the Cure and Equestrian Games” is a new enhancer benefiting the American Cancer Society. This three-day, three-night camping event is held to honor the loved ones we have lost and those who still fight. Proceeds are awarded to the Tyler Cattle Barons’ Gala, which is the primary fundraiser for the American Cancer Society-Tyler, Cancer Research and Patient Services. After raising more than $15,000 its first year, our hopes are to continue to grow the event year after year.

Riders from across East Texas and surrounding areas are invited to participate in this trail ride along with the equestrian games. Those who sign up for the full weekend will trek on a 40-mile, multi-terrain trail ride and have exclusive entry into the games. The games will be Gymkhana style, which is an equestrian event consisting of speed-pattern racing and timed games for riders on horses. You won't want to miss this!

The overnight camp will be held at the Tarrant Ranch in Bullard, Texas, opening on Thursday, October 10th,
at 4:00 p.m. This is “Primitive Camping” with restrooms on site. No hook-ups are available; however, self- contained RVs/trailers and generators are welcome. As a participant in the event, each rider receives an event T- shirt, bandanna (color representing the type of cancer they are advocating for), camping for three nights, with all meals provided from Thursday dinner to Sunday lunch, access to a live auction, access to the horse/rider costume contest, and tickets to a concert Friday night. The riders will ride fifteen miles Friday, ten miles Saturday, and fifteen miles on Sunday.

*Options available to ride all three days or buy in to the days/activities of your choice. Riders who participate in all three days will have an automatic entry pass to all Equestrian Game events. Riders who do not wish to participate in the trail ride are still invited to enter the games separately. *
